Jerry's Jukebox

Here is Jerry's 1946 Mills Constellation jukebox. It plays 20
of the 78 rpm records the precursor to the 45 rpm with the big hole.
78's were 10" in diameter and held one song on each side.
They were made till 1959, 45 rpm's came out in the late 40's,
as did the LP. He stripped the Mills down to it's aluminum shell (Made by Bell Helicopter) and repainted/refurbished all of the components.
He has several hundred 78's ranging from old rock to
big band, country, pop and blues.
The Seeburg M-100C model was the only one Seeburg made with rotating color cylinders on the corners. It is the second model they made for 45's, it is from 1952.  It holds 50 45's and you can play both sides, hence the 100 in it's name. They made some that held 100 45's. Jerry restored this, stripping the layers of blue metalflake paint and applying cherry veneer. All worn items were replaced or refurbished.
It plays like new.
The Mills will take you back to the
Big Bands from the 40's and 50's
The Seeburg is the Rock & Roll Jukebox
Jerry wanted to have a jukebox that played 78's again. He still had some good records he has saved when he sold his Mills Jukebox years ago. This 1947 Rockols
1426 showed up on ebay and he was able to negotiate a good price. The seller in California was near the Rockola plant(now doing cd jukeboxes) and took it over for them to pack it up and send it to me. All 350 pounds of it!
The jukebox arrived in fine shape. It was pretty dirty from years of cigarette smoke and who knows what.
IF it could only talk!  Jerry was pleased to find the box was complete, except for the coin mechanism, but he
was going to put it on free play anyway.

Jerry has quite a collection of songs from the 40's and 50's
So why not pick a song and sit back relax and enjoy the music

Jerry made up this picture of a couple from the 1940's dancing in front of an old Wurlitzer 950 Jukebox. The colors were added on the computer, as was the background effect.
This painting Jerry did from memory. It is of a teen hangout in Cheyenne, Wyoming that he went to in 9th grade. It was across the street from his junior high. He had lunch there and played the pinball machine and fed nickels into the jukebox-the start of his love of those machines and cherry cokes.
